Does your wife approve of your photography?
-
She has been my model and inspiration for over 17 years now so I would have to say - Yes (although she does get a bit "catty" about the other models occasionally).
-
Who's photographs inspire you?
-
That list can get pretty large, but I would have to say that Vogue contributor Helmut Newton (1920-2004) would be at the top. Sure Ansel Adams takes nice scenery but his pictures don't make you sit back and say "Boy that saddle looks good on that girl!".
-
Who are your models?
-
Anyone I can find. Generaly family, friends and people who have seen my photos. If you are interested please contact me.
-
Do your models get paid?
-
Not likely but I'm happy to provide images to my models (prints or CD's) for their own self promotion. If you have some ideas, an interest in fashion or art and would like to try them out on film please contact me.

Do your models pay you?
-
Yes I have done commissioned work. I general I prefer an interesting subject or concept. Please contact me for more information.
-
What kind of Camera do you use?
-
I currently use a 10.2 MP Nikon D200 - it rocks! Past gear includes a D1H, Coolpix 4500, and occasionally a D1X. My first images were taken with a Canon T70 film camera.
-
Why do you use digital?
-
Speed. I never really learned to take better pictures until I began loading my own film rolls and taking lots of pictures. Trial and error with digital provides immediate feedback.
-
How did you get started in photography?
-
I just picked up a camera. I keep meaning to take a course but never seem to get around to it. What really got me interested was my failed first attempts. My prints from the lab never looked the way I "saw" them - regardless of how I set up my camera. I am a fairly voracious reader so I picked up every book I could find at the library and start reading about photography and darkroom developing. Then a friend lent me his enlarger to see if I would like developing my own prints and I was immediately hooked.
